I have the J27 on an old video tape (Railscene No. 26) struggling up through Darnholm where hand sanding of the rails had to be used but all to no avail as she slipped to a stand and refused to go any further. In the end a class 25 was summoned to push the J27 and it's train up the bank to Goathland.

diesels.... those are the ones that don't make that chuff chuff noise, smell great and are covered in steam right. As appossed to those "orrible" blue coloured shoe box thingy's that look as if they are burning tyres 😁

Anyone from Teeside direction, there is roadworks on A171 at Guisborough. There is an easy diversion, go A173 to Skelton and Lingdale, drops back onto the A171.
